my pink caddi

wire, marykay pink autopaint, rubber, woodward avenue, 2009

Fashioned similarly to the wire-cars I played with as a child in Zimbabwe and Zambia, my pink caddi is designed to mimic a 1967 cadillac. The MaryKay pink is similar to the pink used in outlining colonial territorial borders on British historica maps. The wire car was documented being pushed on Woodward Avenue, from jefferson Avenue to Eight Mile, the border of Detroit, Michigan, and its suburbs.
